Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Voice Bio app and related services (the "Service"), operated by Jacky Chung ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Voice Bio is a voice journaling app. It lets you record spoken entries, produces AI transcripts and polished text from those recordings, and helps you assemble them into storylines and autobiographies. Some features require a paid subscription.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use Voice Bio. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have a parent's or guardian's permission.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us at jackychung@voice-bio.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Your content

You retain all rights in the recordings, transcripts, and text you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you — for example, to transcribe your recordings, polish your transcripts with AI, and assemble them into autobiographies at your request.

We do not use Your Content to train AI models and we do not share it with third parties except the processors listed in our Privacy Policy.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for making sure you have the right to record anyone whose voice appears in it.

5. AI-generated output

Voice Bio uses third-party AI models (OpenAI) to transcribe your audio and to polish or reorganize your text. AI output may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. Treat it as a draft — you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it.

6. Subscriptions and payments

6.1 Plans

Voice Bio offers the following paid plans (prices shown in the app):

Both Premium plans include 300 transcription minutes, 150 AI text-processing requests, and 10 book-generation requests per UTC calendar month, multiple storylines, and PDF export. Automatic organization, polishing, suggestions, and excerpts each count as a text-processing request. Allowances reset on the first day of each UTC month, including for yearly subscribers, and do not roll over. Free accounts include 30 transcription minutes, 30 text-processing requests, and one book preview per UTC month. Manual notes and access to existing content remain available without a subscription. Long selections may need to be split into smaller chapters. Physical book printing and shipping are not included. No lifetime plan or introductory free trial is currently offered.

6.2 Billing and auto-renewal

Monthly and yearly subscriptions are sold via Apple's App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at purchase confirmation. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period for the same price and duration unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

6.3 Managing and cancelling your subscription

Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access to paid features until the end of the current billing period. Deleting your Voice Bio account does not cancel your App Store / Play Store subscription — cancel it separately via the store.

6.4 Refunds

All refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their respective refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly for purchases made through the app stores.

6.5 Free trials and price changes

If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before then. If we change the price of a subscription, we will give you advance notice and an opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes all of Your Content.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused portion of the term (subject to the app store's refund policy).

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated output will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. You use the Service at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jacky Chung will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability — in those jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply only to the extent permitted.

11. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change to these Terms, we will give you reasonable notice (in the app or by email) before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence says otherwise.
